Vermont Cranberry Beans, also known as Borlotti, are a versatile heirloom bean that's perfect for both shelling and drying. These gorgeous speckled beans have a rich, nutty flavor and creamy texture when cooked. They're perfect for hearty soups and stews, salads, or as a simple side dish. This New England traditional bean has been a staple since before the 1800s.
GROWING INSTRUCTIONS:
Direct sow seeds outdoors after the danger of frost has passed and the soil has warmed up. Plant seeds 1-2 inches deep and 2-4 inches apart in rows spaced about 2 feet apart. Keep the soil consistently moist, but not waterlogged. Bush beans don't need trellising and will typically be ready for harvest in about 70 days for shell and 95 days for dry beans.
